Hard to believe that I haven’t posted about this yet but no time like Now. I have the inside track on the best quality streaming video player for the web. Not only is this high definition TV quality it does not buffer, feeds do not get distorted and out of sync.
As much as I love YouTube and Google video watching someones mouth move but the words don’t match, a la old poorly dubbed Kung Fu movies and the like, makes me nuts. The other thing I like about those two technologies is the viral aspect, the connections you can make around the world in no time depending on who finds you.
What I like about my find-called Maxcast is that I can drive people to my page and direct them to certain videos that I have uploaded there. You can rent 2 channels which will play up to two hours of your videos per channel for $9.95 per month. Not only that but once you upload your old videos or current DVDs the content is stored by them forever!
For trainers or people with digital video products this is a great way to give people a glimpse of you doing your thing and then direct them to buy. You can host whole trainings at your website and use the pay per view model.
The company who is bringing this to market it 23 years old, publicly traded, a $1.3 Billion/year company
and they have 3 other categories of products that you can play with or ignore. One I couldn’t help but get excited about it Photomax. Everyone probably has an online photo company they love. Well these guys have just replaced the ones I was using for so long. Not only can you get prints but you can archive copies all of your photos in their underground vaults.
They will take old photos and turn them into movies or slideshows and it’s all reasonably priced.
Take a look at Photomax and see what’s available. I am finally doing things with those boxes of photos I’ve been saying I’ll organize, put in books etc. I just send them in and decide whether I really want a book, a large print for framing, or a movie stored on DVD. It’s a heck of a lot faster and more important, the older photos will not disappear waiting for me to get ’round to doing it.
