This morning I’m in the process of getting my mercury levels tested. The proceedure is very simple and I’m doing it in the comfort of my home, no doctors office visit, no co-pay, but yes I will have to pee in a cup. The test is part of a mercury detoxification program called MercOut. and I’m doing this after a convincing lecture on the prevelence of mercury toxicity in most humans. The bearer of this good news is Dr. Bruce Dooley, M.D., another wonderful presenter at the Extreme Health program I attended in Feb.
Where do you stand on the mercury in amalgam fillings issue? Do you think it’s no big deal and that some new age dentists have just figured out a way to make some extra money replacing old fillings?
How about the warnings about mercury in fish? Aha, you’ll limit your fish consumption but discredit dentists and other health professionals who warn of mercury toxicity and its side effects as some sort of hysteria.
I no longer think I can accept one but not the other and
am more convinced than ever that mercury in fillings as well as mercury from other sources can and does cause symptoms such as brain fog, arhtritis, Alzheimers, (also increased by aluminum leaching from things like pots and pans, deodorant, but that’s for another post), sleep issues, and on and on.
Dr. Dooley showed a film of an extracted molar with an amalgam filling being rubbed by a pencil eraser–not a hard surface like a tooth just an eraser–and mercury gas pouring from the area being rubbed. He backed his claims up with more science than I can begin to site here.
He explained that mercury and other metals lodge in tissue not blood or hair so those tests do not show the full potential load of heavy metal poisoning. He has developed a test and a supplemental detox program which replaces the intravenous therapy called DMPS, a chelation compound used successfully by physicians worldwide since the ’50s to bind mercury in the body’s tissues and escort it out through the urine.
But that is a time consuming and expensive process. Dr. Dooley’s specialty for 15 years was in heavy metal toxicology medicine so the guy has made this his focus for a long time.
Go to his website to learn more or to order the test. This is a physician supervised test and the sample will go via DHL to the testing lab. The results come back in apprx. 2 weeks. If the levels are high then his supplemental protocol is suggested which will cause the mercury to be flushed out of the tissues just like the DMPS process.
